I wouldn't read much into a single quote from a news story.

In any case, Noisebridge is regrettably too far for many people based in 
the South Bay and peninsula. Here's hoping Hacker Dojo prospers. At least 
some of the people involved are aware of Noisebridge. (To the point where 
someone on their mailing list wanted to explore the possibilities of joint 
membership options a while back...doesn't look like that person has showed 
up here yet.)
