Oh, donations most especially can be earmarked! There are many projects
that have been completed as a result of earmarked funds. Just think about
it - you're working to, say, build a space program. Would you want to have
all your money have to be filtered through the Noisebridge general fund in
order to get your helium and radios and balloons, then have to get a
consensus on having the money you donated for all that spent? That seems
awfully silly and would probably kill just about every significant project
we have going.
Another way to look at it is Noisebridge accepts donations of materials and
items as well as cash for our general fund.
