   what do you mean "usb drive"? 
   if you just want storage, why not a few 
flash memory sticks? 
   do you want to duplicate CDs or DVDs or 
be able to read them when you get them? 

   as to cameras, the very cheap ones use 
plastic lenses that cost about $0.05 each 
in quantities and they're pretty good. i 
wonder what's the sweet spot of price and 
optics. can you suggest some make and 
model?
