Thanks! I hope people remember though that this computer-controlled
wheelchair platform is also a robot, to be driven with Nobody in the seat!
Telepresence here we come!
If you have hacking skills and a bit of time, please get involved!
The robot needs more intelligence and more hardware. It's an ubuntu
platform that you can log into and do work from anywhere - you don't need
to be at noisebridge because it has a static IP.
I am about to install sensors on the motors so the computer knows how far
the wheels move - this will be important for telepresent users to be able
to command the bot "forward 2 feet" or whatever, instead of trying to
goose the gas pedal correctly (which is totally ridiculous).
Also it needs (or should have) a better wireless connection - i have one
of those Cisco 1200 AP's which i heard can be used as a bridge client. If
someone wants to set one up, get with me and i'll help you wire it in.
