[Noisebridge-discuss] Sleeping at NB

The most frustrating thing about this is that I can't really do
anything about it. I live and work in north Berkeley, and only make it
to SF in the evenings. If I'm ever in SF in the AMs, I feel like I
should drop by Noisebridge just so that someone who isn't dickless
(metaphorically speaking) can confront the sleeper issue.

And the sleeping people at Noisebridge isn't the only issue where this
comes up. Most of the things at Noisebridge that I would like to
confront people about happen when I'm not there. Messes, misplaced
equipment, breaking that band saw blade repeatedly, food rotting and
dirty dishes. The fact of the matter is that people do annoying,
damaging things in the space, sometimes thoughtlessly, but the people
who will be hurt most by it may not be around at the time. I just have
to hope that whoever IS around will say something if they notice. I
don't really know that ranting about it on discuss is going to improve
the odds of that but it probably doesn't hurt. If people know that
sleepers have become a pressing issue, maybe they'll bother to have an
awkward conversation with a stranger.

So Heph, I certainly agree that doers are to be applauded. But I think
a lot of the people on this thread ARE doers (well, there were quite a
few trolls too). We're just not in a position to catch people in the
act. So I'm glad there's some overlap between morning people and doers
(thanks Fabian!) and hopefully there will be more of that, both of the
photo-taking-prankster and the
nice-touchy-feeling-chat-about-your-situation variety.
