I'm setting up yet another class workshop, and I'd like to upgrade my
soldering iron of choice. In the past I've used the $15 blue one from
Marlin P. Jones. Very cheap, but the tip is very sensitive to abuse,
especially from those who are just learning to solder.
What are my alternatives going up to, say, $50? APplications would be
discrete electronics through-hole DIP, say like Arduino shields etc. I
don't expect them to be doing any surface mount.
