Shiatsu for Techies
Thurs, Feb 11, 7pm-9pm
(class starts promptly at 7pm, no latecomers please)
Noisebridge, 2169 Mission, SF
Free to the public
This class will help address some of the physical challenges that come from using the computer frequently: arms, neck, shoulder and upper back tension. This classes is taught in the style of traditional shiatsu, which uses rhythmic pressure along energy channels and stretching to heal and improve Qi (or vital energy) flow. We will cover the seated position of massage that you and your coworkers can do for each other and stretches that you can do for yourself. Bring a friend so they can learn how to massage you and vice-versa. This is a hands-on class with handouts so be prepared to share and get relaxed. This class will be repeated for those who miss out on this one or would like to practice more.
Mira Luna is a certified massage therapist with over 500 hours of training in traditional asian massage and clinical experience. She has a sliding scale massage practice as a service to the low income community and has taught this class several times before, though always different.
