Dear all,
Having spent too much of my childhood playing with numbers and too
much of my adulthood watching people say them not too clearly: When
you're doing these calculations, life could be made a LOT easier by
the fact that the dues for a whole year are $960, as in almost $1000.
Thus it might be better to state percentage proposals in annual terms.
So an actual 2% per year is just under $20 ($19.20), which is what we
thought Jason meant at the meeting. This proposal gives an average of
11% savings, as in the mean of 0, 2, 4, ..., 22. So that should be
less than $110 off (in fact $96+$9.60=$105.60) but you can do it in
your head. It actually sounds not bad at all to me now.
