[Noisebridge-discuss] More lounge-like atmosphere @ nb

One fast and dirty thing that would improve lighting without changing too
much would be to do something about the glare. Indirect lighting enables
you to see things more clearly with less light and reduces eye strain.

The fun part is, all you need to do to get indirect lighting is put
something solid between the bulb and where you are. Little, uh, hats?
troughs? hanging down below the ballasts would dramatically reduce the
glare. There are also tube coatings specifically for reducing glare.

People generally shy away from these types of measures because it doesn't
*seem* as bright without the glare, which is the real irony. The light
doesn't go anywhere, it's just many people gauge brightness by the amount of
glare they can discern.
