[Noisebridge-discuss] Dry goods, foods, and other things in the kitchen not in the fridge

Jonathan and I moved them after a brief discussion with Miloh. It
makes the dishes a whole lot easier to put away. A lot of people
seemed happy with the change. We kept the spices in a drawer next to
the stove (we should start labeling the tops of the jars so that they
can be browsed more easily) and moved the tea things above the oven.
There are still a few issues with the layout though. We should build
another shelf into the cabinet above the oven, and we may want to
consider building some lower shelving near the sink. As it is now,
the glasses are somewhat hard to reach for short people (although
there is a stepping stool). The one conveniently low, open shelf that
has glasses on it now is actually intended for a microwave, so that's
not a permanent spot.

I agree though that it's important to seal off food from the rats. We
put a few things like sugar into tupperwares, and also did a bit more
work on sealing up the backs of the counters. I plan to continue
working on that as we start filling more of the cabinets with food.
Have we had any rat issues in the cabinets yet? Hopefully the rat
problem will improve in general as we start finishing off some of our
construction projects.
