[Noisebridge-discuss] SF Elementary Math Circle

I think that it's totally reasonable to have a group of children
meeting in a classroom. I am actually organizing an event for kids
that will be happening in the NB kitchen sometime in the next few
weeks. We'll have a large ratio of parents to kids, and the activity
we're doing is pretty safe.

Whenever the topic of kids in the space comes up there's concerns
about liability and censorship, and the conclusion we seem to come to
is Be Excellent. It's not cool to project porn or curse at the top of
your lungs if there are kids in the space. It's also not cool to bring
your kids to NB if you can't handle the fact that we have a dong
drawer in the kitchen. So we as members will be accountable for our
event by talking with parents as they arrive, and not broadcasting
this to an inappropriate audience (like say, the PTA at a super
conservative private school).

In the case of Rachel's activity, since it's very contained, safe, and
supervised, I think that the more conflicting issue is the closed
group and entrance charge. As you may have noticed on the wiki, we
don't generally host those sorts of events.
