[Noisebridge-discuss] Content aware fill -- not so special?

Through a plugin called Resynthesizer, that does look very cool.

Unfortunately:

"8/10/2009: I haven't really been keeping up with API changes in the
GIMP, or with emails people send me. If you emailed me and I haven't
replied, I'm sorry. If you want to take over as maintainer of this
project, email me. Other emails will probably continue to sit unread
in my inbox."

The problem with FOSS is often that the people who need a problem
solved (eg. get that tree out of the picture) don't have the skills to
implement, or modifiy, a solution (eg. write/update a GIMP plugin).

Money is a useful way for people with a problem to get the attention
of people who have the skills to solve the problem, and in this case
Adobe is basically acting as a conduit for that money. Sadly, this
mechanism does not exist for Resynthesizer.

This is also why FOSS programming tools are so good: the people with
the problems happen to be the same as the people with the skills to
fix them.
