Agreed -- POE would be nice. We have some dumb (non-802.3af) POE
injectors that don't seem to power these phones or APs. Not sure if
these phones only switch onto POE with FLP or PSE pulse responses or
some craziness.

I'm surprised that these phones aren't POE-enabled (or so it seems).
