[Noisebridge-discuss] What "excellence" means to me

What "excellence" means to me:
1) Suppress the urge to be pissed at someone, and explicitly consider
how you might be misinterpreting the situation or their intentions.
2) Regularly think, "How can I bring out the best in other people?"
3) Try to ensure that your standards of excellence are not lower than
other people's.
4) Realize that your actions and words set an example of what other
people will consider to be acceptable/normal behavior.
5) Realize that text sucks as a medium to convey nuance, and it's
really easy to interpret people's words on the mailing list worse than
what was intended.
6) Realize that if you think "if only we could get rid of X
person/thing/group this problem would be solved", you probably haven't
thought hard enough about solutions.
7) Reciprocate good and bad actions, use both carrots and sticks. But
realize that it's way to easy to use too much stick.
8) Remember that the garbage has to be taken out Monday and Thursday
nights. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE OF ALL.
