Here is an interesting grant opportunity.  But a really big project.  One, though, that fits in with part of what Noisebridge is about:  Education.  If I had a bunch more time, I'd be into pursuing this.  It provides a pile of money for some non-profit org, such as Noisebridge, to create programs that actually give kids an opportunity to learn what they're interested in, prepare them for actually living a life they want to live, and give them opportunities for further education.  Anyone think this is interesting?

Funding Name: ARRA Title II, Part D, Enhancing Education Through Technology (Competitive)

Eligible Applicants: local educational agencies

Required Eligibility Criteria: Eligibility is restricted to local educational agencies (LEAs), i.e. county offices of education (COEs), districts (or a consortium of districts), and direct-funded charter schools, that serve students in grades seven through twelve.

Funding Description: The primary goal of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Enhancing Education Through Technology Competitive (EETT C) grant program (2009 -2011), as implemented in California, is to promote the acquisition, maintenance and use of data to improve college and career readiness or to improve the high school graduation rate.
