I really like Ubiquiti equipment. They're linux-based Atheros MIPS
hardware with some custom tools to manage it all. They're usually
pretty cheap and very flexible.

If you're interested in big-name vendors, I'd look at some Cisco
AP1100's or AP1200's. There some spare ones that are unused (for now,
hopefully they'll be going up one day) at Noisebridge if you wanted to
poke at them and see what they're like.
