As treasurer for a new hackerspace in the east bay, I am also interested in
this. Right now we're small enough that doing it all by hand (a combination
of google spreadsheet + gnucash) isn't too terrible, but I can see that
becoming unmanageable soon.

The only thing I don't like about quickbooks is that the one time I tried it
for personal use, it felt like a really shoddy piece of software. UI felt
like it was written in the windows 3.1 days. Plus I remember stories of them
doing evil things like overwriting your MBR as part of their anti-piracy
code, but fubaring some people's systems as a result.
