I'm personally no expert, though I have made some small boards to
experiment with etching with Eagle. I'd be happy to share what little
I do know, but the basic flow is:
* Input your schematic with component values
* Switch to the layout editor and set your PCB dimensions and start
moving component footprints around until it all fits
There are some really good videos online if you can learn by seeing
others do it. One group of videos I enjoyed comes from a small design
group out of Germany called Ruin & Wesen that are making their own
music tools, and they produced a set of videos about designing with
