Hey There Noisebridge -

I am writing to let you know about an awesome Arduino-y activity you
can join in on. The event is going to start tomorrow, and will run all
week. Folks can just come for the beginning, or stay for the whole
thing. We would love if you could join in - details:

September 5 – September 10
TICKET MACHINE workshop with Kaho Abe
A ticket for a trip is an object that gives you exclusive access to an
unexplored place. It is only piece of paper, but it
carries imagination and anticipation of the future, of what new world
it can unlock. The Ticket Machine is a Rube Goldberg type
collaborative installation which is triggered with a push of a button.
In this workshop we will explore some simple technical tools,
components, the Arduino Mega and other materials. Then form small
teams of 2-3 people. Preferably engineers and hobbyist with with
various artists and craftspeople.

This workshop is for: Engineers, hobbyists, tinkerers, artists,
designers. This workshop is for adults. Teens are welcome to sign-up,
but we expect you to bring it!

- The Eyebeam Roadshow!

The Eyebeam Roadshow is what you get when you mix a rock & roll tour
with the talented fellows and resident
artists of Eyebeam. It is an event organized by the artists as a way
to bring their work to places where it would
not otherwise be seen. The Roadshow consists of talks and workshops
that are designed specifically to blow
minds. So far, the Roadshow has traveled to over 20 locations in the
U.S. and UK, spreading open source art
and technology wherever it goes. The Roadshow has been invited to 01SJ
as part of the Out of the Garage
program - a week+ program where independent artists, designers,
architects, engineers, programmers, and
corporate and academic research programs will work in San Joseʼs
80,000 square foot South Hall to create
projects for exhibition, performance, provocation, and interaction.

ABOUT EYEBEAM: Founded in 1997, Eyebeam is an art and technology
center that provides a fertile context and state-
of-the-art tools for digital experimentation. Since its beginning,
artists, programmers, hackers, activists, technologists,
kids and adults have come to Eyebeam to share ideas, find
collaborators, experiment with new tools and create new
work. We currently host creative practitioners through a youth
program, residencies and fellowships, research groups,
and public programs.
