So perhaps it'd be safest to make arrangements with the food network not
to mention NB if you do the shoot there, especially given that the NB
space isn't typically involved in the process? Also, they're paying you
to do this, right? Maybe make a donation to NB from a cut of the cash?

Probably more important than money is culture. Please make sure the video crew understands that Noisebridge is a hackerspace, not a set: the bathrooms are on the far side of the kitchen, someone might use the bandsaw in the middle of a take, and that there are no barriers to sound, so it's going to be noisy.

The last time people were filming in the space, they seemed rather unhappy with the acoustics, which is understandable. The place is one big interconnected airspace, so every sound is heard everywhere. Going around asking people to be quiet only works for a couple of minutes; beyond that, get a real set, or come back when the space is empty. From ~4AM to ~noon, you can essentially have Noisebridge to yourself, with just one or two people working relatively quietly on stuff.

The last time a film crew was there they were shooting me, and the results were actually pretty good http://www.vimby.com/video/sponsor/us/all/detail/10908/Take_on_the_Machine_Episode_One/. But it did take a lot of takes to get a sequence without some extra noise.
