Hey all, I am forwarding stuff to the discuss list because so many members
of the noisebridge community are interested that I am having trouble
remembering to include them all in the news. Ki Won, who is writing here,
is awesome and was stoked to find out about & visit noisebridge when web
group started meeting here. He is definitely one of us.

Please let me know if I should not forward so much occupy stuff to the
noisebridge list.

There are two groups drafting two separate letters, and that work is
ongoing and as of last evening incomplete.

One letter is being addressed to the city as to why the Mission offer is
inadequate, and what our expectations are. I don't have a comprehensive
list of those working on this letter but did see Kames, Diana, Ryan, and
others involved. I don't know that this is an outright generic rejection
letter. My understanding is that this letter explains to the city why we
did not accept their offer. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The second group is drafting a letter to the 99%. A random list (not
comprehensive) of those I saw who were involved: Lisa, Brad, Magick, etc.
I've made a personal point to mention to this group that any
statement/manifesto should be inclusive and unifying. It needs to include
the concerns of those of us who want to take the Mission space in order to
provide for those who need it.

Last night's GA had consensus on extending an invitation to
labor/faith/community groups for a rally tonight, and extending an
invitation to all SF and Bay Area occupations to join in on pre-planned
events on Friday. Upon further discussion with labor/faith/community
organizations, and assessment of intel (multiple sources saying no planned
raid in the next day or so), the outside organizations have very politely
suggested that we coalesce all turnout into tomorrow's (Friday's) events
instead, so that we don't thin out support across three days (there is much
planned for Saturday as well). So, the plan is for all the outside groups
to come out and show support tomorrow evening. There will NOT be a rally
tonight.

Regardless, the emergency response system is still in place, and we have
people on stand-by in case of a surprise raid at any time.

There was extensive discussion of the Mission situation during last night's
GA. It appears the city wants OSF to make a consensus statement of support
for those autonomous individuals who wish to take up the city's offer as an
independent group. They are not asking for OSF as whole to sign the Mission
agreement. There was an attempt to draft a simple statement to that effect
during the GA, but we were not able to achieve consensus on it and it was
tabled. Many of the concerns were not over the wording of the proposed
statement, but rather over myriad implications of making such a statement
on behalf of the group interested in the Mission space, whether it
compromises the movement, etc.

Hopefully this is more or less a neutral summary. Let me know if I've
gotten anything wrong.

Ki Won
