Hey there,
Is the noisebridge table at this event happening? I'm happy to bring a pummer (http://www.beam-wiki.org/wiki/Pummers) I soldered together at Noisebridge a little while back to display. In the vein of blinky lights.

Today I received an email (copied below) from Paul Spinrad, a MAKE Magazine editor asking me, and Noisebridge, to have a table for people to learn about Noisebridge at an interesting kickoff party for Engine Advocacy.
These people are focusing on small businesses (like the ones started at hackerspaces) to take a role in shaping the future of the US economy. And they are seeing hackerspaces as part of this vision.
I already agreed to be there to set up a table. Anyone interested in joining me to represent Noisebridge at the party on 8-Dec, 7p-10p? It'd be nice to have a few of us there. (And it should be fun, too. :)
The party is in SOMA in the City.
Mitch.

Hi Mitch-- Derek Slater who used to be at the EFF but is now
policy director at Google (maybe you know him?) is starting to
pursue the big and exciting prospect of a new political advocacy
org, Engine
Advocacy, dedicated to encouraging innovation, grassroots
entrepreneurship, making, net neutrality, and all that kind of
good stuff.
They're hosting a party in SF on December 8, and they would
love it if you and any other Noisebridge folks wanted to come
and set up a table for people to learn about Noisebridge and
other hackerspaces, and play with Trippy RGBs, Brain Machines,
etc.
I'm definitely going to this-- I think it will be very fun
and interesting. I hope you'll be in town that day and can make
it as well. If you're interested, please RSVP below and you can
also email brittanysmith at google.com to
coordinate whatever you'd need for Noisebridge to represent
there. If so, I'd love to help out at the table however you
want. Please let me / us know!
Best regards,
Paul
We're
having a party. Join
us.
We are a group of
entrepreneurs, artists, investors, and other
innovators.
We believe in the
value of decentralized, emergent, bottom-up
innovation; that the Internet is the most
powerful platform for innovation ever created;
and we want to shape public policies that allow
the internet to flourish.
We're aiming to change that and are
already having an impact in Washington. We're
ready to expand out, building this into a broad,
independent, diverse coalition and would love to
involve you. Starting with you joining us at our
party!
