Can they actually stream *raw* out? All the DV stuff I've played with can only output a DV stream via FireWire. It's more convenient than using a DV tape but the resulting bitstream is identical. DV tapes themselves don't have a loss, just the CODEC 

(to make things more confusing some cameras out there now record to miniDV tapes using MPEG rather than DV...)
