Goodwill takes all / any e-waste at any of their locations including the one
a block south of NB. I have taken several CRTs there.

I still use CRTs and although I know they take up more space and power (sort
of) they still have advantages in some ways. For instance changing
resolutions without affecting picture quality, and even possibly better to
start with even though smaller. Actually since many / most of the power
supplies are low (not high) efficiency, they don't save as much as people
think. For saving power getting or (re-)building some high efficiency bricks
can really help. Most bricks are 30% but can be found 70%; mostly a CRT uses
the same power w/ low efficient brick as the next higher size of LCD it
appears.

It seems like a couple of smaller loose / spare LCDs around NB have walked
in the few weeks or so. This sucks if you want to bring in a computer of
your own home just to fix up just for the day and you have to carry also a
monitor up the stairs. CRT is much less likely to walk.
