Or picasa, or any decentralized method of storing photos that allows people
who take their own pictures to easily link them with a classification of
"noisebridge" without forcing a bottleneck like a single upload location.
Flickr came to mind because I do have a flickr and it's my main way of
distributing any pictures i might want other people to see, and it made more
sense to me because it enables people to "own" their photos in their own
galleries but provide a central semantic "location" where all the images are
viewable. I'd be more interested in seeing a solution that knits together a
varied bunch of photo storing and viewing styles that anyone can add their
gallery or photos to (regardless of service) without having to reupload,
than a single-failure-point application that requires maintenance and
debugging and logins and stores all these photos without differentiating
photographer or owner. I'm totally down with a gallery that lets everyone
share and view pictures of noisebridge but I don't find the gallery as it
stands to be a particularly elegant solution.
