So here's what I could do. I can grind the back surface down to raw
metal and spray the back with reflective rustolum brand spray paint.

We can then take a 2" srtip of material, plastic probably, and run it
around the circumstance of the piece. That will give it the depth for
LED magic.

Another effect would be red cold cathode. Might be cheaper and easier.
