[Noisebridge-discuss] Workshops at Noisebridge the weekend after Maker Faire?

Noisebridge is a fine place to hold workshops of all sorts. The only thing that needs to be done is ensure that space is available a the time the workshop is to take place. There are lots of events going on at Noisebridge, and they are listed in two places:
the main page of the Noisebridge website:
https://www.noisebridge.net
     the unofficial calendar:
https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=vo3i3c0qtjnkjr2ojasd0ftt8s@group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/Los_Angeles&gsessionid=OK

Then it's a good idea to post the workshops on the main page of the Noisebridge website (which is a wiki page), and also post the workshops to the Noisebridge-Discuss and Noisebridge-Announce email lists.

Mitch.

Subject: [Noisebridge-discuss] Workshops at Noisebridge the weekend after Maker Faire?

Hi Noisebridge,

Is anyone interested in running a workshop at Noisebridge the weekend after Maker Faire (May 28-29) as part of Workshop Weekend? We're looking for more hackerspaces and makerspaces to run workshops, and Noisebridge's location and facilities would make it a great place to host some. Plus it would be a great way to get more people involved in the space!

Noisebridge already has a lot of recurring classes on Saturdays and Sundays -- if you teach one of those classes, are you interested in having a special "intro" session that weekend? The goal of Workshop Weekend is to get more people excited about Making in all its forms by offering free or low-cost, low-commitment workshops aimed at helping interested folks discover and explore their passions.

If you're interested, see the event website at whatwillyoulearn.com - a faq for teachers is at whatwillyoulearn.com/teach/faq

We also have several teachers who want to run workshops but don't have their own space. Any objections to suggesting Noisebridge as a possible location for workshops?

Thoughts? Ideas? Complaints?

Thanks!

J.D.
