Sorry to here that.

We live in a democratic nation and we have at least as many people who have
allowed DARPA to exist as we have people who don't want DARPA to exist.
But just like all national tools, we are tainted by and enhanced by the
work of DARPA.

For fuck sake, we're using e-mail...

That said, DARPA offers more to our society than weapons, alone.

Think back to the grand challenge.  When was the last time our country was
that excited about an academic competition? *crickets*  When was the last
time our country was that excited about ROBOTS?!?!?!?

I don't remember when viking landed on Mars, but I imagine that was it.

I know people like to paint DARPA with the same olive drab brush as the
rest of the military, but if you do that, you need to paint NASA
