*teachers, students, sharers, and troll hunters/slayers...

*i'm putting a feeler out to see if there is interest in coming
together and 'sponsoring' a separate internet connection that is super
fast (cable co. or other), super secure, and hooked up to serve turing
and church classrooms (with options to expand).

*we can ask the folks at eff and others to help secure it.

*the openness of the space will be preserved in that it is usable by
all teachers and classes that participate in the 'sponsorship' of it
which with enough participants will be a few bucks each a month, or,
maybe we can pay a guy with the cable company some cash to turn it on
and leave it on (usually $20-$50 cash) and will come back and put it
back on if we ever have problems.

*everyone will be on passwd access and be on a newly created list
which is also passwd accessed. whether this is a NB list or another
type is up to us.

*this will provide a 'clean', super-fast, dedicated connection for
classes, teachers, students, presentations, downloading/uploading,
video/video conferencing, running servers, and a troll-free
environment.

*no more classes/presentations where the internet goes down.

*non-teachers, non-regular-students, and guests the teachers haven't
seen or know will be given a daily passwd that gives them access to
the web and nothing more (based on discretion) and is given to the
teachers via daily thread to their chosen inbox(es). even if a person
hasn't been to the space in a while all they have to do is look in
their inbox for any given date and the passwd is there.

*of course these are just suggestions and can be whatever we want them to be...

*if you'd like to do this and are serious about it let's start a
conversation off-list and any who come onto this thread with
legitimate interest can be invited to said conversation. this way if
you or anyone else see someone come on the thread whom are known to be
a 'problem' you can let us know and they will simply be ignored
completely.

*and of course ANYONE interested in sponsoring this connection or if
you know someone who would be that will be excellent...
