[Noisebridge-discuss] Secure and / or powerful (non-RFC compliant) wireless routers? :)

Moin Moin,

Do any of y'all have some recommendations for secure and powerful
wireless home routers? The problem with most home routers today is
that the firmware has numerous security issues, of course. Also, they
are all RFC compliant and have poor usage indoors where many rooms or
long distances are a problem. Any thoughts on security hardened wifi
home routers or any sub-$100 routers that can handle transfer through
numerous brick wall rooms? What do NSA employees use at their home,
etc, as approved by NSA standards. Probably NOT a Linksys home router,
eh?

Anyway, I would prefer NOT to roll my own on top of tomato, dd-wrt,
openwrt, etc as I have done in the past. Those firmware binaries are
flaky at times and also there is some question as to security.
Thoughts??? :)
