[Noisebridge-discuss] google docs - specific colours for various authors, possible?

Colored author text would be a simply wonderful feature. Unfortunately it
isn't an option. I saw something on a google forum recently saying how it
wasn't a feature. (and it kinda bugs me since Google Docs uses some
technology from Etherpad which DOES have that feature). Etherpad.com
doesn't exist any more but you might want to find another etherpad service
and play with that. Though Etherpad won't have all the text formatting
capabilities of Google Docs.

In related news, there is no way to see where a live edit is happening in
Google Docs or Etherpad. This is important (and annoying) when you are
trying to follow along as someone edits a document and their cursor
"disappears", actually they might be editing the document on the next
screen.
