[Noisebridge-discuss] Seeking help with building Prusa Mendel I2

Hi Ohad,
I am just finishing up a Prusa i3 build myself. I printed all plastic
parts at Noisebridge, there are makerbots (and one functioning Prusa i2)
there with PLA and ABS galore.

As for sourcing electronics I'd recommend RAMPS from a reputable source if
you aren't sure what you want yet. Kliment's 4pi is expensive but very cool
it's (one of?) the first non AVR electronics control boards. Personally I
bought a Generation 7 electronics kit from Markus Hitter (Traumflug)
because it's inexpensive and VERY DIY friendly. (The PCB is single sided so
you could etch it at home) The generation 7 board is very featureless
though, so my overall recommendation is RAMPS.

As for other parts, I got my NEMA-17s from robosprout (CCecil on IRC, nice
guy) and everything else from either fastenal (retail, had many but not all
fasteners) and mcmaster carr for everything else.

Hope that helps. Note there's also a bay area section on the reprap forums.

Thanks,
Dan
