I know enough about programming in general that I could probably 
eventually work it out.  Do you have specific issues?  Are you trying to 
do it yourself and only asking for guidance, or do you want someone to 
do the software for you?

i2c is a wire protocol, there is still the app level protocol which 
needs to be specified (eg, what data you send/receive over i2c, and what 
it means). You'll need to read the specs for your device for that.

It does sound like an interesting project.  I wouldn't mind helping out 
here and there, but my life is crazy busy at the moment.
