I'm adding the [drama] tag simply because I know this is going to be a
Conversation Utterly Negated by Tangental Subjects.

At some clubs downtown in Austin, some entrepreneurial people who
formerly didn't have jobs have banded together to be Human Vending
Machines. They sell things that are usually not provided by the
clubs, and the clubs don't mind. Cigarettes, candy, blinky lights,
glow sticks, aspirin/tylenol/advil mini packs, and other assorted
useful things (condoms, single-use breathalyzers). As it turns out,
it's pretty damned profitable and people like the personal service.

And .. yes .. it's mostly women in short skirts and plunging
necklines... although there are a couple guys in drag, some of the
women in some sharp suits, and a few people that just do it in good
'ol clubwear.

Still, there's a definite place for a human vending person, even today.
