Anti-luddite sentiments aside, I'm more disappointed in how soda vending
and automated fountain drinks have destroyed soda jerk culture. Soft drinks
in the US used to be a lot more healthful and interesting, but nowadays if
I want a chocolate phosphate I need to spend an hour with the chemistry set
because acid phosphate isn't even manufactured anymore.
