I have a couple good T40 batts if you want one.  But like Jake says, they're all different, so you should say which model you have.

Also, to whoever was asking for a thinkpad with a printer port, I put some T40 motherboards on the hackshelves that are to the best of my my knowledge still working.  They would need a usb keyboard and a screen among other things, but they could get up and running with a little TLC.

I am looking for a thinkpad battery in any condition.

I just got a IBM Lenovo Thinkpad X60 tablet but i didn't get a battery for 
it.  It's a super weird one so I know you don't have one, but as long as 
the connector is the same I think it will work fine after I replace the 
cells and use a bunch of hot glue.

The connector i need has seven pins, with the first two separated from the 
other five by a plastic wall.  The computer side looks like this:

I totally don't care whether the battery is alive or dead.  I will replace 
the cells and re-shape the whole thing so it fits in my weird laptop.
I will then "jump start" the battery like in this video:
