[Noisebridge-discuss] book scanner?

I have a Canon A490 that we could use with it, it's the same kind of 
camera i saw them using (two of) on the ace monster toys rig.

They load it with CHDK and tell it to take a picture when 5V appears at 
the USB port.  A poor-mans' remote trigger.

It would also be useful to disable the lens retract function when it 
powers off (just leave the fucking lens deployed instead of moving it in 
and out every time power turns on or off)

Just wondering.  I'm only kind of half-assedly signing up to build one, as
soon as I finish building my boat for Camp Tipsy.  Just because I need 
one.
