That is an interesting link, but I think we need 900MHz RFID tags instead
of 13.56MHz ones.
If we use 900 MHz (UHF) rfid equipment, the tags will be very small and
easily hidden on stuff we want to keep from getting stolen.
these things look like the DIY style hardware for UHF rfid:
