Happy Deficit Day! Today marks the day that the federal government uses up
all of the tax revenue for the entire year, according to James R. Harrigan,
a fellow of the Institute of Political Economy at Utah State University,
and Antony Davies, a professor of economics at Duquesne University.
Consequently, every penny that the government spends, which is about $10
billion per day, from today to the end of the year must be borrowed and
adds to the nation’s deficit. In 2009, Deficit Day fell at the beginning of
July, which is the earliest point in the last 40 years.

Woo Hoo! ! !
