At the 3rd Annual Open Science Summit we will examine some the most exciting recent developments in Open Science.

If you cannot attend, please let others know about the conference and consider making a donation to support the event through the eventbrite link.

In 2012, we have seen the tipping point for the Open Access movement as both researchers and the public have pushed to accelerate the transition to a better model for scholarly publishing.

The rise of "Open Source" medical devices and hardware hacking has also been prominent in 2012, with great coverage in outlets like the Economist. See http://opensciencesummit.us5.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=cbf45ecfadcd2c3e0c568a762&id=181114ed99&e=3188b8f6e4

We are particularly pleased to showcase several of these projects, including the fantastic adaptation of Reprap, a popular open source 3D printing initiatve, for use in tissue engineering. http://opensciencesummit.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=cbf45ecfadcd2c3e0c568a762&id=4dfa9b6a95&e=3188b8f6e4

This is one more example of how open innovation is transforming critical fields like regenerative medicine.

We'll also examine the changing face of the pharmaceutical industry and specifically, some great advances in the field of Rare Disease research, where Open Science is starting to make a huge difference. For example, Jimmy Lin's groundbreaking work with the Rare Genomics Institute, which has run a program analogous to a kickstarter for rare diseases! http://opensciencesummit.us5.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=cbf45ecfadcd2c3e0c568a762&id=3fffc60ca9&e=3188b8f6e4

Full speaker line up and session topics are available at http://opensciencesummit.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=cbf45ecfadcd2c3e0c568a762&id=911492b1db&e=3188b8f6e4

Expect to once again hear a broad range of topics of critical importance to creating better, more efficient, and OPEN scientific collaboration.
