If you're into green tech, open data and hacking code, there's a hackathon
in the bay area in June. As part of their annual conference Connected World
magazine is having a hackathon in June. To make sure they get great data
and are making it worth your while, they have teamed up with the Department
of Energy to try to put some of that government data to good use. More
details on the event is here:
http://connectedworldmag.com/conference/index.php?q=app_challenge

If you've ever wanted to develop greener technology, here's your chance to
get focused on the data, looking at M2M technologies and making the world a
better, greener place. People from the DOE and other organizations will be
on hand to walk you through using the data and APIs they have available.
They're continually updating the wiki with ideas and data they will be
releasing: http://en.openei.org/wiki/Help:Energy_Hackathon_Resources

They have nice prizes, but the biggest boon is exposure for you and your
team or startup or group on the COVER of Connected World magazine. Check it
out. http://connectedworldmag.com/

Maybe I'll see you there!
