Theron Trowbridge will discussing and demonstrating the Makerbot, an
affordable, open source printer, that can make objects up to 4" x 4" x
6".

Along with covering the technical aspects of the MakerBot including
assembly, and the open source software used to design and print objects.
he will also touch on the cultural impact of the MakerBot, such as how
home DIY fabrication, the Maker movement, and the looming Industrial
Revolution 2.0.

Theron Trowbridge lives in Los Angeles and manages the digital video
encoding department of a Hollywood post production facility. A life-long
DIY-er, he is president and a founding member of CRASHspace, a
hackerspace in Los Angeles, where he helped build, maintain, and upgrade
multiple MakerBot Cupcake CNCs. He has also 3D objects for printing and
is a regular contributor to Thingiverse. In his spare time, Theron
creates and performs weird computer-generated electronic music under the
monicker Bangsplat.
