One of those two is using Alexia's top sites as the source. So that
takes care of your issue. Not so many home-made blogs in there.

And how far down do you go? Since jQuery has around a 90% share, should
we make a cut off and mention everything down to .01%? 

The statement you were jumping on was "I have covered HTML, and learning
about how most people in the real world program websites (by using
jQuery and its plugins) is important . . ." using the rather rude "even
if the answer is 'because it's what I know'". 

The initial statement is pretty much exactly true. jQuery pretty much
owns the space at this point and if you are going to be teaching a class
on how to do real front end dev with a limited amount of time, you pick
the tools that 90% of the people using libs use.
