[Noisebridge-discuss] a doorcode is now required to let people into noisebridge

the button upstairs which is labeled DOOR, and causes the downstairs door
to open by electrical signal, has been non-functional for months now.
the numeric keypad above it has been, up until now, configured to open the
door when any button is pressed. However, that intermediate period has
come to a close.
At this time, if you are upstairs and want to let someone in, someone who
is downstairs and ringing the doorbell, you can no longer simply press a
random button on the keypad to let them in.
To open the gate from upstairs at noisebridge, you need to type in a code
to the upstairs keypad. (just like you type a code into the payphone to
get in).
You can also use the Android app available here:
http://jjuran.com/Noisegate-debug.apk
there is also a URL that you can access (when you're inside noisebridge)
to open the door. I don't know what it is.
If you have any questions about this, or if you don't have a code and want
one, you can email me, or leif, or tom, or danny, or anyone you want.
It is hoped that this new arrangement will make it more likely that when
people who are new to noisebridge, and ringing the doorbell, will be let
in by someone who is familiar with Noisebridge culture, and cares about
them as an individual, and will introduce themselves and the space when
the new person comes up the stairs after being let in.
enjoy!
