[Noisebridge-discuss] happy feminist film night: Hayao Miyazaki?

Feminism IS NOT about equality, it is about LIBERATION. Equality would mean
that feminists want to adopt the same abuse of power as males have within
the patriarchy. I'd like to think no feminist wants women to rape and
murder as much as men. Plus, I'm highly suspicious of any man that tells an
actual woman what feminism is about. This is exactly why men should have no
power within the liberation of women, they quickly fall into negative
social traits such as telling women what to do and taking over their
movements.

No one in their right mind would tell black people that they have to
include and give power to whites within the black liberation movement. So
why do you think it is okay to do that to women? Women are constantly told
they have to include men, and that hasn't helped us one bit. Men always
grab for the attention and try to "teach" us - as if they could truly
understand our experience.

Yea, a lot of women have done shitty stuff to other women. There is a whole
theory explaining why this happens, I can recommend some feminist
literature to you (I don't have time to explain it all in an email). But
just because women do shitty things to other women doesn't mean women are
the oppressor class.

Also, I'd greatly appreciate if you referred to us as WOMEN, and not
females. We are human beings, not animals.
