Actually, no it isn't. What someone does outside the space can be the
basis for their permanent expulsion, when it is something that
threatens others' safety, as is the case here.

To be clear, I personally do not know him and have nothing against
him. I believe the accusations to be credible, and more to the point I
believe that his presence severely detracts from others' (especially
our female participants') ability to enjoy the space. To me, that is
grounds for removal; I generally believe in trusting people when they
say they feel threatened.

However, my relative neutrality is why I am taking care of the bike
situation, since I have no personal animosity and can handle it with a
bit more calm than some others.

I don't think it's appropriate to go into more detail here. If you
want details, contact Alex Peake (CCed). If you want to reinstate
Shawn, please announce on list that you intend to bring it up at a
meeting, and do so. It is a matter for in person discussion.
