Fixing society of a large geographic area is certainly a laudable ideal, but the existence of a long-term goal of fixing society does little to help those who have to deal with the current society. Both long-term and short-term solutions are needed, and perhaps the short-term measures can be phased out when the fabled millennium of peace allows the lion to lie down with the lamb (or the sketchy kleptomaniac to lie down with the web developer).
