IIRC "most" kilns of that size range are no more fire etc risk than an
electric stove.

Risks to rewards? As in: "be careful, but not too careful"

Consider also ...Perhaps there's LESS risk due to clay/ceramic/glass/copper
enamel etc all being rather incombustible compared to oh- a turkey.

YES it needs proper wiring&mounting on the proper base that often houses a
substantial vent fan  with "Sail Switch" interlocks for the power
contactors.

NO different than a commercial grill&fryer siting 20 feet from where I am
typing this. Vent hoods for example further are dirt cheap as salvage from
commercial kitchens. Details on request:>

The summary: GET IT ASAP thence make it safe by having a trained
tech/trusted team ... audit the repairs/install for details. Skimping on
small stuff can indeed kill folks&buildings but-so can a bog standard
kitchen stove....which is unremarkable for being ubiquitous.

One consideration is the new membership potential.

 Of Kiln users that **WILL** bring skills&life experience pool expansion
that likely will enrich all involved parties. 'The utility of a Pro Grade
Kiln is limitless for all it grants to the Hackerspace..Stuff like
fundraising *Tchotchkes* for gifting trinkets. since
