There are persistent infestations of bugs and rodents, and probably a
lot of mold around too.

To get the kitchen completely clean will take moving the large
appliances and counters out of the way to do a deep cleaning, then
putting down diatomaceous earth before moving things back.  Maybe some
other stuff too, I'm not an expert.
