Hello, are you happy, taxpayers?

I'm not. I'm tired of having conversations over the "point" of Noisebridge.

Johny Radio has been discussing with me and many others his passion
for the idea of coming up with a new Mission Statement. A better,
stronger, faster Mission Statement, possibly with wings.

I say, now would be the perfect time.

Let's write down what we expect from Noisebridge as a space, as a
community, and as an entity within a larger community (the Mission,
San Francisco, and the world).

Let's write down what we expect from Noisebridge members, like what
Excellence actually /means/ in light of all of the cultural progress
we've made over the past 7 years.

This is going to be a major project, a bit like building a Pyramids,
except without the slave labor implications. It's not going to happen
all at once, or come from any one person. It should come from us all.

As Johny put it:

"Until the entire community agrees unanimously on SOME Mission
Statement, NB will continue to fight internally. The official Mission
Statement is viewed by some people variously as a farce, or no more
than legal requirement, or a fascist document, or optional. We cannot
enforce anything, we cannot prohibit or require anything, until all
participants verify that they accept and respect the project Mission."

Let's do it.

Cheers,
Naomi
